1 Who we are

knote.ink (“knote”, “we”, “us”) is a learning app: a notebook you can write and draw in, free AI-generated textbooks, past-year question practice, and Kani — an AI teacher. By creating an account or using knote, you agree to these terms.

2 Accounts & eligibility

Study features need an account (currently Google sign-in). Keep your login secure — you're responsible for activity on your account. If you're under 18, use knote only with a parent or guardian's consent.

3 Free plan & AI time

The free plan includes the notebook, open textbooks, past-year practice, and up to 60 minutes of Kani each month. Free allowances and limits may change over time.

4 Paid subscriptions & billing

Paid plans (Learner and Aspirant) are priced in Indian rupees plus GST and billed quarterly through our payment partner. The monthly-equivalent price, the quarterly total, and the included AI time are shown at checkout. Prices and limits may change with prior notice; changes never affect a period you've already paid for.

5 Launch offer

The “pay for 2 months, get 6 months” launch offer applies to the first 1,000 users who buy the Aspirant plan, once per user, while it lasts. We may change or end it at any time; it can't be combined with other offers.

6 Refunds & cancellation

You can cancel anytime from your account. Paid access continues until the end of the period you've already paid for, and you won't be charged again.

First purchase: if knote isn't for you, email us within 7 days of your first payment for a full refund — provided you've used no more than about 60 minutes of Kani in that period.
Launch offer & renewals: the “pay 2, get 6” purchase and later quarterly renewals are non-refundable once the period has begun, except where the law requires otherwise or the service was unavailable for a long stretch due to us.
Billing errors: if you're ever charged incorrectly, tell us and we'll make it right.

Approved refunds return to your original payment method via our payment partner and may take a few business days.

7 AI, content & results

AI output can be inaccurate (see the notice above). knote is a study aid — it does not guarantee any score, rank, or exam result. You're responsible for how you use what you learn here.

8 Acceptable use

Use knote for your own learning. Don't resell access, overload or try to break the service, upload unlawful content, or use knote to cheat in a way that breaks an exam's rules.

9 Your content & privacy

Your notes, handwriting, and uploads remain yours. You give knote the permission it needs to store, sync, process, and (with AI) interpret them so the app can work for you. We handle personal data in line with our Privacy Policy and India's DPDP rules.

10 Changes, availability & law

We're actively building knote, so features may change and the service may occasionally be unavailable. We may update these terms and will flag material changes. These terms are governed by the laws of India.

How knote collects, uses, and protects your information — in plain words.

1 What we collect

Account: your name and email from Google sign-in.
Your study content: notebooks, handwriting and strokes, drawings, the photos and files you add, and text you write.
Usage: which lessons and questions you open, practice results, and time spent with Kani — so the app works and improves.
Payments: handled by our payment partner. We receive confirmation of a payment; we do not store your full card details.
Device & logs: basic device, app version, and log data.

2 How we use it

To run the app — save and sync your notebooks across devices, track progress, and power Kani — and for billing, support, safety, and improving the product. We do not sell your personal data.

3 AI processing

To answer you, Kani sends the relevant text — and sometimes an image of the page you're on — to the AI models that run it. Treat anything you share with Kani as processed for that purpose. We don't use your private notes to train public models without your consent.

4 Who we share with

Only service providers who help us run knote — cloud hosting, our payment partner, and Google sign-in — and only as needed. We may disclose information if the law requires it. We don't sell your data or share it for advertising.

5 Storage & security

We protect your data with encryption in transit and at rest. Notebooks are encrypted, and the keys are held in your device's secure storage. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to keep yours safe.

6 Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act you can access, correct, or delete your data, withdraw consent, and nominate someone to act for you. Manage your account in the app, or email us to make a request.

7 Children

knote is intended for users 18 and older. Younger students should use knote only with a parent or guardian's consent, as required by law.

8 Keeping & deleting data

We keep your data while your account is active and as long as needed to run the service or meet legal duties. Delete your account and we'll remove your personal data, except anything we're required to keep.

9 On this website

This site uses your browser's local storage for small conveniences — like remembering whether you chose the light or dark theme. That stays in your browser.

10 Changes & contact

We may update this policy and will flag material changes. Questions or requests — including grievances under the DPDP Act — email our Grievance Officer at knote-team@tinisoft.in.

Is knote.ink free?

Yes. The free plan includes the notebook, free AI-generated textbooks, past-year question practice, and 60 minutes with Kani — your AI teacher — every month. Paid plans add more time with Kani.

Which exams does knote cover?

knote is built for serious aspirants preparing for JEE, NEET, UPSC and GATE, with past-year questions and a syllabus you can work through at your own pace.

How is Kani different from ChatGPT or Gemini?

Most AI just hands you the answer. Kani guides you to it — asking the next question, making you practise, and even letting you teach the concept back so your gaps show. It also draws lessons live on a whiteboard and can see the page you're working on.

Can Kani be wrong?

Yes. Like any AI, Kani can make mistakes and even “hallucinate” — state something false with confidence. Treat its help as study support, not settled fact, and verify anything important before an exam.

Can I use my own notes and textbooks?

Absolutely. Write and draw by hand on the notebook, or snap a photo of a page to bring it in. Kani reads the page and works through it with you.

Can I learn in my own language?

Kani teaches in English, Tamil and Hindi today, with more languages landing shortly — so where you're from doesn't decide the teacher you get.

What does it cost, and what devices does it run on?

Paid plans are ₹300 (Learner) and ₹600 (Aspirant) per month plus GST, billed quarterly; you can cancel anytime. knote runs on Linux, Android and Windows, and your notebooks sync across them.
